Vinausteel Commences Construction of Finished Steel Plant Project in Hung Yen

Senior VNSTEEL Leadership in Attendance

The event was attended by the leadership of Vietnam Steel Corporation - JSC (VNSTEEL), including Mr. Le Song Lai - Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nghiem Xuan Da - Deputy Party Secretary, Board Member and General Director; along with representatives of the Standing Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Board, and functional departments. The strong presence of VNSTEEL senior leaders underscores the importance of this project within the corporation’s overall development strategy.

From Vinausteel, attendees included Mr. Dong Tuan Vu - Chairman of Minh Ngoc Manufacturing & Trading Co., Ltd., concurrently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinausteel; Mr. Ngo Dinh Khoi - Board Member and General Director; other board members, department heads and staff. Also present were the management team and staff of Minh Ngoc Manufacturing & Trading Co., Ltd.; representatives of Nam Viet Steel Co., Ltd.; strategic partners and project implementation units.

Broad Participation from Major Corporations and Strategic Partners

The ceremony brought together major corporations in finance, technology and construction, including: Vietcombank Hung Yen - the financing institution; Xuan Mai Investment and Construction JSC - the construction contractor; Danieli Group (Italy) - a world-renowned technology partner in the steel industry; Minh Cuong Mechanical Company and several suppliers and subcontractors. Their attendance reflects confidence in the project’s quality as well as in Vinausteel’s capabilities.

A Strategic Project in Vinausteel’s New Development Phase

During the ceremony, Vinausteel’s leadership emphasized that the Finished Steel Plant in Hung Yen aims to establish a modern, synchronized production facility applying advanced technologies, thereby increasing capacity and completing the company’s production-processing-distribution value chain. The project is expected to strengthen supply autonomy, particularly in the northern region - a key market with steadily growing demand for construction steel.

Once operational, the plant will help Vinausteel reduce delivery times, optimize logistics costs, and enhance customer service quality. Additionally, the project will create hundreds of new jobs, contribute to local budget revenue, and stimulate the development of supporting industries in the region.

Hung Yen was selected due to its strategic advantages: strong industrial investment attraction, a logistics network connected to Hanoi and neighboring provinces, and suitable land resources for clean industrial development. This makes it an optimal location for Vinausteel to expand its finished steel production capacity and strengthen its presence in the northern economic corridor.

According to VNSTEEL’s leadership, Vinausteel is among the most dynamic units within the system, demonstrated by its rapid implementation of the project shortly after the investment cooperation agreement. The groundbreaking of the new plant not only expands production resources but also enhances VNSTEEL’s position in Vietnam’s construction steel market.

Groundbreaking Marks the Start of an Acceleration Phase

In a solemn atmosphere, the ceremonial drum “Tu Quy Hung Long” signaled the start of the groundbreaking ritual. Delegates proceeded with the sand-shoveling ceremony, officially commencing the project’s construction phase.

This moment represents the convergence of four key elements: a reputable investor, world-class technology provider (Danieli), a professional contractor, and solid financial foundations - all of which provide Vinausteel with strong confidence in meeting progress, quality, and safety-environmental standards throughout project execution.

Commitment to Progress - Quality - Sustainability

Vinausteel’s representatives affirmed the company’s commitment to mobilizing all resources to ensure on-schedule implementation. The company places strong emphasis on occupational safety, quality management, and environmental protection during both construction and operation.

Vinausteel believes that once operational, the plant will become a new growth engine, contributing positively to the development strategy of the company, VNSTEEL, and Vietnam’s steel industry overall.
